Gas Saving Tips

Gas saving tips for Reducing Transportation Costs

  1. Travel at the speed limit. The faster we travel, the harder the engine works and therefore more fuel is burnt per kilometer.
  2. The same applies to hard acceleration. When we gradually get up to speed the motor works less hard and uses less fuel.
  3. Coming to a gradual stop will save on fuel and prolong the life of your brakes and tires.
  4. Keep your tires at the right air pressure. Slightly flattened tires cause more resistance and thus will use more energy to travel.
  5. Travelling with windows open and air-conditioning off will reduce energy consumption.
  6. Make sure the motor’s air filter is clean. Consult your owner's manual or your service professional to learn how to access your air filter. If this is replaced when dirty, you will help keep your engine running efficiently which will save you money, especially if you've been driving on dusty roads or in construction areas.
  7. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for servicing. Your vehicle will run more efficiently, saving fuel and reducing pollution thus helping the environment.
