Green Cleaning Tips

Here are some green cleaning tips for oven cleaning or removing stickers and stains.

Alternative to Strong Oven Cleaners:

  • Warm water, vinegar, and baking soda can be applied to the inside of the oven. Let it stand over night, then wipe it clean in the morning.
  • Peanut butter can be helpful for removing stubborn stains or stickers. If you have a stain such as shoe-polish, etc., on a vinyl, tile or wood floor, or a sticker on a dish or window, smear a bit of peanut-butter on the affected area. Leave it to sit for a bit to allow the oils in the peanut-butter to soak in. You should then be able to remove the stain or sticker with a gentle cleaner.
  • Rubbing alcohol and a stiff cleaning pad can be used to clean difficult grease marks from appliances, counters or tiles.
  • Applying ice can be useful for removing chewing gum from carpet etc.

These are a few green house cleaning tips. If you have others you wish to share, please submit them on the Contact Form.

If we use them on the site we will mail you a Canadian made cotton shopping bag in appreciation.
