Studies have linked them to reproductive damage in animals, including tumors of the uterus. The Canadian government's current concern is over D4 and D5's effects on wildlife because most of the studies have been conducted on animals, and these pollutants have been found to travel easily through the air for great distances. However, chemicals that are harmful to animals are often harmful to human health as well. When these products are used the toxic chemicals eventually end up in the environment.
