Pharox Led

Pharox LED is the most widely used consumer replacement LED light bulb. At this point 2.5 million bulbs have been sold. They were developed in the Netherlands and adapted for North American use with the ability to work using 120 volts. They are an attractive bulb emitting a warm white light. The 6 watt dimmable bulb gives off a similar amount of light to the 60 watt incandescent bulb. This means that it takes 1/10th the energy to operate.

What this really means is that in spite of the much higher cost to buy the LED bulb, in as little as 3 years you will start to save money. The savings will come sooner in high-use areas. Keep in mind these bulbs will last up to 25 years.

The compact fluorescent (CFL) bulbs are also quite energy efficient, using just over twice as much energy as the Pharox LED bulbs. They have some serious down-sides. They contain mercury which will contaminate your living space if broken. If they are disposed of in a land-fill site the mercury then gets into the environment. They must be brought to specific depots where they can be safely disposed of. They also emit an electro-magnetic field (EMF) which can make people with this sensitivity quite ill.
Let’s look at the advantages with these Pharox LED replacement bulbs:

  • More energy efficient than any other bulb
  • They last a very long time, so you can replace them and then forget about them
  • They give off very little heat, saving on air-conditioning costs in summer
  • Give off a warm white light
  • They have no UVA or UVE radiation
  • They contain no mercury or other hazards components
  • They turn on instantly and do not flicker
  • They do not emit and electro-magnetic field (EMF)
  • If you live in an off-grid location, it will be much easier to keep up with your lighting needs
  • In the long term you will save a lot of money
